This is an annual event that is run by Newcastle Surf Club every January around Australia Day. It is a 2km swim between 2 beautiful beaches.  

There are swims with views, and then there’s Nobbys to Newcastle, a spectacular point-to-point swim that takes you right past one of Australia’s most iconic lighthouses and into the heart of Newcastle Beach. 

It’s scenic, straightforward, and full of coastal buzz. This 2km course is perfect for confident ocean swimmers looking to start their long weekend with a salty hit of adventure. The event has built a loyal following over the years, thanks to its community vibe, great safety support, and beachside finish.
